Web Platform

A Web platform usually describes the language/database combination that is used to build a Web site. Web languages include HTML, Active Server Pages (ASP)-VBScript, ASP-Javascript, JavaServer pages (JPS), ColdFusion (CFM), and HyperText Preprocessor (PHP). Databases might include Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual FoxPro, and MySQL.

So an example of a Web platform might be ASP-VBScript/MS SQL Server or ColdFusion/Visual FoxPro
